Good Vibes Days: What Are They?
What a Good Vibes Day is, and why we make time for them.

2026, and the Good Vibes are holding
At Leadly we’re all about the Good Vibes. And no, we don’t just mean the Spotify jam sessions in the office. Good Vibes Days are our own thing: an allocated, paid day off where the whole team takes part in an activity or a theme.
Good Vibes Days are paid days off where the whole team takes part in an activity together. This year that meant go-karting, a heatwave sports day and a three-day hackathon trip to Boracay, all part of the same thinking as our new HQ: invest in the people, and the work takes care of itself.
No laptops, no calls, no “just quickly jumping on something.” Time out of the office, together, building the kind of community you can’t build over Slack.
It’s all in the name. Here are the ones we’ve run this year.
Leadly Grand Prix

In September, the Manchester team headed to TeamSport for some good old-fashioned go-karting.
We are, it turns out, a competitive bunch. What was meant to be a light-hearted afternoon turned into full Mario Kart mode within about four laps, and we took it WAY too seriously. Genuinely one of the best laughs we’ve had all year.
Leadly Sports Day

During the July heatwave, the Manchester team went back to primary school. Rounders. Tug of war. Bean bag race. Duck duck goose. All of it followed by a proper picnic in the sun. Pure nostalgia, and everyone loved every second of it.
If you want a sense of how competitive this lot are: we had a videographer there to capture everyone being big kids, and we ended up reviewing the footage to settle a tie-break. It got THAT serious.
The Hackathon

The biggest one of the year, and the one that took us furthest from the office.
Eight devs. One island. Zero standups.
Team Connect 2026 ran from Friday 7 to Sunday 9 August in Boracay, for the eight people behind Claims, Endevr, Viewthru and Swoppa. Jay leading, Harold on Swoppa, Lee and Ric on Viewthru, Justine and Paul on Claims, Niro and Vince on Endevr. Behind every feature shipped and every bug fixed is this team, so once a year we get them off the clock and onto the water.
Day one landed by noon and was in the sea by half one, kayaking the caves at Puka Beach. Between that came the first half of the Anthropic AI courses, with the second half before a sunset cruise on a traditional paraw. Certificates were handed out after dinner, which is a sentence that reads oddly next to “golden-hour sailboat” — and that’s rather the point.
Day two started on a yacht out of Station 2, with swim and snorkel stops and an island tour. Open water by day, open laptops by night: the hackathon presentations went in at ten that evening.
Day three was banana boats, UFO rides and parasailing, then a land tour, then dinner. Recharging, done properly.
Why we bother
None of this is a perk we bolt on at the end of a good year. It’s the same thinking behind the new Manchester HQ: invest in the people, look after them, and the work takes care of itself.
You name it, this team can do it. The least we can do is give them a day off to take go-karting far too seriously.
